Oh sure, the weather was imperfect and the bug was still here, but could you feel it? We were resilient, we persevered, we did our best to be middle schoolers, and with the easing of restrictions after March Break, the Spring really returned to our step. The biggest Track & Field contingent at UVic (thanks Mr. Barmby),… Rugby Teams… Badminton Team… Field Hockey Team (Thanks Ms. D-Dubs & all of our coaches)… Glanford Music Performances & Trips!(Thanks JellyFish)… JuggyLeague, The Clash of the Classes, the BoomBall Championship with the whole school together for the 1st time since March 2020… Awards Assemblies & the Grade 8 Celebration… and the pìece de résistance, a WHOLE SCHOOL RETRO-ASSEMBLY… They all happened! And of course we learned and laughed about all of it through our own Studio 85 (Thank you Laurel, Norah, Téa, Björn, Ben & Kenan for serving and continuing the tradition of excellence as Producers of Studio 85). Covid has not been a friend to our school but we have done all that we could to encourage the shared experiences that bring smiles, laughter, & learning. They bind our community. We are ready for what comes next, and we will face it with the same determination, but for now we are joyous and hopeful.
